12 April marked the 53rd anniversary of the Somali National Army (SNA) and was celebrated by a military parade at the newly refurbished Ministry of Defence in the Somali capital Mogadishu attended by President Hassan Sheik Mohamud and commanders of the Somali military and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
The African Union Mission in Somalia’s Force Commander General Andrew Gutti made an official visit to Djibouti where he met with the President of Djibouti H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh along with Djiboutian political and military leaders.
The visit was intended to expand and further strengthen relations and communication channels between AMISOM and the Djiboutian government in support of the deployed Djiboutian Contingent in Sector 4 as well as AMISOM at large.
